Bidens avoided paying payroll taxes

Since The Morning Call reported on what President Trump paid in income tax (The Morning Call, Sept. 28), I think it’s only fair that The Morning Call also give front-page news to the Bidens going out of their way to avoid funding seniors’ entitlement benefits.

According to the Biden tax returns in 2017 and 2018, they avoided payroll taxes on nearly $13.3 million in income from book royalties and speaking fees. Of the taxes the Bidens avoided, $385,000 would have funded Medicare and nearly $120,000 would have funded Obamacare.

How can the former vice president claim to protect Medicare and Obamacare when he avoided more than $500,000 in taxes that fund these two programs? (“How the Bidens Dodged The Payroll Tax” by Chris Jacobs, The Wall Street Journal, Aug. 11).
