Is Sen. Toomey really a fiscal conservative?
In reading your newspaper’s report about Sen. Toomey’s decision to not seek another term, I was drawn to the description of him as a “fiscal conservative.” How on earth could someone who voted for tax cuts that did little to boost the economy but instead added trillion of dollars to our national debt be called a fiscal conservative?
To borrow a phrase popularized by our current administration, this reads more like an “alternative fact.”
