City remembers, honors Smull, Robinson

Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr., left, and George Smull lower Easton’s flag to half staff during a ceremony Friday to honor former City Council President Josie Smull, George’s late wife. Josie Smull was elected to City Council and served from 1998-2002. She was council president 2000-02. Smull was heavily involved in Easton activities, including the Easton Peace Candle. On Monday, Panto plans to hold a second ceremony to honor the passing of John Robinson, a successful businessma­n in the city. Robinson was active in many organizati­ons, including the Easton Branch of the NAACP and the Northampto­n County Jail Board. During Monday’s ceremony, the Easton NAACP flag will also be raised.
