City remembers, honors Smull, Robinson
Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr., left, and George Smull lower Easton’s flag to half staff during a ceremony Friday to honor former City Council President Josie Smull, George’s late wife. Josie Smull was elected to City Council and served from 1998-2002. She was council president 2000-02. Smull was heavily involved in Easton activities, including the Easton Peace Candle. On Monday, Panto plans to hold a second ceremony to honor the passing of John Robinson, a successful businessman in the city. Robinson was active in many organizations, including the Easton Branch of the NAACP and the Northampton County Jail Board. During Monday’s ceremony, the Easton NAACP flag will also be raised.
