Touchstone Theatre’s Christmas City Follies shifts to virtual show

Stay home, stay safe and watch Touchstone Theatre’s Christmas City Follies in your living room.

The theater’s annual variety show will be televised at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 and will be available to view through Jan. 2 on YouTube.

Touchstone will record the 21st annual show with the theater and the Christmas City as it’s backdrop while the eclectic cast of characters performs original creations and material for the show. The program will feature returning Touchstone favorites like the Old Guy, Little Red, the Better Not Shout Network, and the Shopping Cart Ballet, as well as a host of new music, personalit­ies, sketches, and stories.

Touchstone will also perform in-person “mini Follies” at outdoor holiday events across Bethlehem between Nov. 28 and Dec. 6, featuring clownish characters delivering classic Christmas carols to shoppers. Locations will include the Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites’ new Christmas in the Quarter, the Sun

Inn Courtyard’s Wintergart­en, and the South Side Arts District’s New St. Christmas Tree.

How much and info: Christmas City Follies XXI premieres with a watch party at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 and will remain online through Jan. 2. Tickets are $12 for individual­s and $35 for households. Touchstone typically also offers a Pay-What-You-Will at the door ticket and instead will be offering a reduced $5 ticket for those who would benefit from a discounted admission.
