The body of Eleanor Camacho, a Salisbury Township woman who last was seen Thursday evening, was discovered in Allentown. Officials are trying to determine how she died, and said more investigation is needed following an autopsy.

Authorities are investigating the death of a Salisbury Township ride-share driver who went missing Thursday and was found Sunday afternoon in her car in Allentown.

Eleanor Camacho was found in her 2015 Buick Enclave at 4:12 p.m. near Lumber and Turner streets, Allentown police said Monday in a news release. The Lehigh County coroner’s office said Monday evening an autopsy was completed, but the cause and manner of Camacho’s death are pending further investigation.

Authorities would not say whether the death was being treated as suspicious.

In addition to Allentown police, the Lehigh County district attorney’s office, Lehigh County coroner’s office and Salisbury Township police are investigating. It was not clear whether Camacho was using Uber or Lyft whenshe responded to her last call.

A spokeswoman for District Attorney Jim Martin said he had no comment on the investigation.

Reached by email Monday, two of Camacho’s adult children declined to comment, referring reporters to police and the district attorney’s office.

The 58-year-old mother of four was last seen around 5 p.m. Thursday leaving the parking lot of her apartment in the 1100 block of South Cedar Crest Boulevard. Her son, Daniel Camacho, said Sunday that her cellphone was last detected two hours later, when it pinged off a tower in the 700 block of Hamilton Street in Allentown.

Camacho, who was expecting her first grandchild, was originally from Philadelphia and moved to the Lehigh Valley several years ago. Her family said she had only recently started driving part time for Uber and Lyft.

When reached for comment, a spokesperson for Uber said the company was “devastated” by the news and were extending condolences to Camacho’s family. But since the investigation remains ongoing, the company declined to comment further or provide any additional information.
