Anthony A. "Tony" Barazzuol, 89, of Pen Argyl, PA passed away Saturday, December 5th, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA, due to complicati­ons of COVID-19. Anthony was born in Pen Argyl, PA on July 8, 1931, a son of the late Domenico and Celestina (Zanette) Barazzuol. He was the husband of the late Anna M. (Brickler) Barazzuol, who passed away in 2018. Tony attended school and was educated in Northern Italy. He was employed in the production and quality control department at Barney Davis & Son in New York, NY.,He also was employed at Marissa, Inc. of NYC. After retiring, Tony, was a courier for Fulton Bank. Prior to working in New York, Tony was employed by various blouse mills in the Slate Belt area. He was a member of the I Paesani Italian Singers and Dancers of the Lehigh Valley. Tony was an avid New York Yankees fan. Tony was an very active member and Past Grand Knight of the Father DeNisco Council 3862, and was awarded "Knight of the Year" in 1970. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Pope Pius XII General Assembly and a member of the Chalice Fund Society. He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Pen Argyl, PA, where he was a member of the Slate Belt Young at Heart Club at the church. Tony was also a member of the former St. Roch's Roman Catholic Church in West Bangor, where he served as President of the Holy Name Society and was named "Man of the Year" in 1981. Tony is survived by a daughter, Joanne R. Barazzuol and her partner Charles E. Delaney, II, a son, John D. Barazzuol and his partner Andrew Allis, and many cousins in Italy. Tony was preceded in death by a sister Theresa Barazzuol. Friends are invited to a public visitation on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 6 - 8 PM at James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 200 S. Robinson Ave., Pen Argyl PA. Due to safety precaution­s and gathering guidelines associated with COVID-19 the family will not be present. Due to the COVID-19 restrictio­ns, only 25 people will be allowed in the visitation room with rotations in place, face masks and social distancing are required at all times. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Pen Argyl, PA with Msgr. Vincent York officiatin­g. A private burial will be held at St. Roch's Cemetery, West Bangor, PA. Online condolence­s may be offered at gaffneypar­sons.com. A public memorial mass and celebratio­n of Tony's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Building Fund, 300 W. Babbit Ave. Pen Argyl, PA 18072 or Immaculate Conception School, 290 W. Babbitt Ave., Pen Argyl, PA 18072.
