2006: G.A. Mangus, who led Delaware Valley to backto-back unbeaten regular seasons after the Aggies had been without a winning season for 1 6 years, leaves the Doylestown school after four years as head football coach to become offensive coordinato­r and quarterbac­ks coach at Division I-A Middle Tennessee. Mangus was 3 5 -1 2 with the Aggies including 3 3 -4 the last three years behind record-setting quarterbac­k Adam Knoblauch of

Tamaqua.

1991: Behind 3 3 points by Tora Suber, Downington ends Central Catholic’s 3 1 -game girls basketball winning streak at Rockne Hall and hands the Vikettes their first loss in 1 6 games, 7 3 -6 3 .

1966: Moravian ends a

2 3 -year, 1 2 -game losing streak to Lafayette with a 64-61 winbefore1,000 at Johnston Hall. Tom Bonstein scores 2 1 points in the Greyhounds’ win, their first over the Leopards since a 4 9 4 7 win, also at Johnston Hall, onJan.25,1943.

1966: Dieruff ’s 2 8 meet East Penn League swimming winning streak ends with a 5 3 -4 1 loss to Parkland. It’s the Huskies’ first loss since falling to Allen in the final meet of the 1 9 6 1 -6 2 season.

1961: In one of the wildest games in Eastern League history, the Allentown Jets’ Roman Turman scores a league-record 6 8 points to outgun the Easton Madisons andHalLear­ina153-139 shootout before 2,000 fans at Rockne Hall. Lear scores 5 7 points in the loss. Turman adds 3 7 rebounds while the Jets get 37 points and 22 rebounds from Ray Scott, 1 2 points and 2 0 rebounds from Bob Mantz, 2 1 assists from Brandon McCann and 1 5 assists from Sid Cohen..
