Allentown Symphony Ball returns with a Virtual Celebration of Music
Special guests, featured artists, two famous Lehigh Valley natives and more are part of the lineup for Symphony Ball 2021 — A Virtual Celebration of Music, starting at 7 p.m. Feb. 6.
The event is free to watch but there will be opportunities to donate and take part in a silent auction.
Here are some of the highlights of the ball:
Emcee for the event will be Bethlehem’s Daniel Roebuck, who’s appeared in countless TV shows and movies over the course of his 30-year career in Hollywood.
There will be various performances from the Allentown Symphony Orchestra which include the “Prelude to Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg” by Richard Wagner, and “Orff ’s Carmina Burana — O Fortuna.” Featured artists include Olga Kern and Lester Lynch performing Gershwin’s “I Got Plenty o’ Nuttin’,” Simon Mulligan’s performance of
Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and a fun take on the history of Ball fashions from Carson Kressley — best known for his role on the original “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” as well as Food Network’s ‘Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition” and “Dancing with the Stars.”

There will also be two pre-Ball wine-tasting
sessions with Willamette Valley Vineyards in Oregon.
How it will work: There will be two wine tasting sessions are set up that evening one starting at 4 p.m. and the other at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets: $175, which include a wine tasting session and three bottles of wine from Willamette Valley Vineyards. Those in the Valley are encouraged to pick up their tasting kit (wine plus a special treat) at Miller Symphony Hall. Curbside pickup will be held 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2 and 3. All proceeds from the Symphony Ball support the education and community
engagement programs of the Allentown Symphony Association, which include El Sistema Lehigh Valley, which marks its 10th anniversary this season.
