ATHLETES OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

The Morning Call sports staff will nominate three male and three female athletes each week from area schools based on their performance from the previous week. You are invited to vote for one male and one female athlete. Winners will be announced in Friday’s Morning Call Sports section. One male and one female winner will be awarded a $500 scholarship by CH Foundation. Voting is open from 5 p.m. Monday to 9 a.m. Thursday at themorningcall.com/ athleteoftheweek

Male nominees Jagger Condomitti (Northampton wrestling):

Won the outstanding wrestler award for 2nd consecutive week by dominating 160-pound bracket at 3A Northeast Regionals.

Brett Ungar (Notre Dame-GP wrestling):

Had two pins and a technical fall on his way to a second 2A Southeast Regional title.

Evan Gleason (Bethlehem Catholic wrestling):

Had a pin, technical fall and major decision en route to his first 3A Northeast Regional championship at 152 pounds. He is 10-0 this season.

Female nominees

Sarah Gill (Freedom diving): Clinched the 3A District 11 girls crown with an 11-dive total of 386.95 points.

Morgan Sterner (Northampton basketball):

Had a game-best 22 points in 50-35 win over Emmaus.

Kaitlyn Jones (Northwestern Lehigh basketball):

Started the Tigers’ comeback in a 49-35 win over Palmerton for Colonial League championship with two 3-pointers in third quarter, scoring eight of their first 10 points after the half.
