Man accused of sex with two boys

- EAST STROUDSBURG — Peter Hall

A Monroe County man is charged with sexually abusing two boys and forcing one to perform sexual acts for more than a decade, court records say.

Thomas Alfonso Boneta, 56, of East Stroudsburg, was charged Friday in district court in Bangor with 20 offenses, including rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with minors and corruption of minors. Court documents do not list an attorney for Boneta and efforts to contact him were unsuccessful.

According to a police affidavit, Bangor police officer Michael Hunsicker interviewed a 22-year-old man who alleged that Boneta started to molest him when he was about 8 years old. The man said Boneta showed him pornographic videos and pictures and engaged in sexual contact with him.

When the man was about 12, Boneta allegedly began giving him alcoholic drinks, oxycodone and marijuana to perform sex acts. Boneta also bought things to persuade him to perform sex acts, according to the affidavit.

The sexual contact continued throughout his childhood, and although the man started to resist when he was 16 and realized what was happening was wrong, Boneta continued to force him to have sex until he was 20, court records say.

Hunsicker also interviewed a 20-yearold man who alleged Boneta began to molest him at a young age and would reward him with gift cards or toys and said Boneta told him never to tell anyone, according to court records.

Police said they were unable to contact Boneta before the charges were filed.
