Peter John DeAngelis, 74, of Slatington, passed away on April 15, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Bambi) DeAngelis. Together they celebrated 32 years of marriage.

Born August 19, 1946 in Bethlehem. He was the son of the late Peter

A. and Helen (Huber) DeAngelis.

Pete was a graduate of Liberty High School and later served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Pete was a successful bird dog trainer and co-owner of Longview Kennels in Slatington. He received numerous awards for his champion dogs. He truly loved his profession and never thought of it as “work”. An avid outdoorsma­n, he held membership­s in the American Field and American Kennel Club and the NRA. Pete enjoyed times spent with his family, hunting, fishing with friends, and driving his Corvette.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

In addition to his wife Bambi, Pete is survived by his almost children; Jennifer Fernandes and Jonathan

Jones; grandchild­ren, Emelia and Chloe; sister, Nancy DeAngelis; niece, Leslie DeAngelis; and great niece and nephew, Alexis and Brandon Holzinger.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 9:30-11:00 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.

In honor of Pete, please feel free to wear jeans.

Private graveside services with Military Honors will be held with the family in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth. Memorials in Pete's name may be offered to Support Homeless Veterans (veterans4h­ome@gmail.com) 20 Everett Ave., Willow Grove, PA 19090.
