Bradford County’s coroner has resigned over a video that appears to show him meeting someone, who was posing online as a 15-year-old boy, for sex.

The resignation of long-serving coroner Tom Carman came as a surprise at first, but video soon surfaced from Musa Harris, who calls himself the “Luzerne County Predator Catcher,” WNEP is reporting.

According to reports, Harris confronted Carman on the video shot Tuesday at a convenience store in Kingston, Luzerne County, after Harris said he posed as a 15-year-old boy online, engaging with a man who agreed to meet him there for sex.

The store is more than 60 miles from Carman’s home, reports indicate.

In the confrontation, Harris asks, “are you here to meet somebody,” and Carman replies “I’m here to get a coffee,” according to reports.

As Harris followed Carman, Carman told him, “Dude, I didn’t send you anything inappropriate, nor did I tell you I would meet you,” reports indicate.

Reports indicate Carman got in his SUV and left after Harris confronted him, but Harris got the license plate on video.

While no charges have been filed against Carman, Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce confirmed Wednesday he is investigating Carman’s connection to the video, the Times Leader of Wilkes-Barre is reporting.

The resignation comes in the middle of Carman’s fourth term.

It also comes a little more than a month after another resignation in Bradford County. That’s where District Attorney Chad Salsman pleaded guilty to charges of intimidation, promoting prostitution and obstruction of justice after he was accused of pressuring clients into prostitution while he was a private lawyer.
