Robert P. Olshefski

Robert P. Olshefski, 86, of Bethlehem died peacefully

surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Born on April 16, 1935 in Nanticoke, PA he was the son of the late Mary (Tronsue) and Frank Olshefski. He was the loving husband of the late Geraldine V. (Gogola) Olshefski.

Robert worked at General Motors (Michigan) and then at Bethlehem Steel before settling in at Bethlehem Housing Authority where he worked for 37 years before retiring in 1997.

Robert enjoyed life and found joy in helping others in any way he could. He could often be found gardening, canning, fixing things around the house or playing golf. Robert had a hole in one at Cherry Valley Country Club. Being an avid walker, Robert averaged 40 miles a week walking the streets of Bethlehem. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and he loved nothing more than being with his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Daniel R. Olshefski and his wife, Laura; daughter, Karen

Hutchison; brothers, Paul and Joseph; grandchildren, Erica, Katrina, Robert, Toby and James and great grandchildren, Sophia, Joseph, Alyssa, Nicolas and Parker. Robert was preceded in death by his son in law, Robert Hutchison, brothers, John, Frank, Jr., Edward and Chester and sisters, Pauline, Florence, Martina and M a r y.

Viewings will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. and also on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 9:15-10:15 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic

Church 1817 1st St. Bethlehem, PA 18020. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
