Diane “Chicky” A. Garland, 72, of Bethlehem, PA passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Temple University Hospital in Philadelph­ia, PA. She was a recipient of a “Gift of Life” lung transplant. Born on October 14, 1949 in Fountain Hill, PA she was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Naomi (Weil) Breidenbac­h. She was the loving wife of husband Joseph S. Garland for 45 years.

Diane was a 1967 graduate of Liberty High School.

She was the previous owner of Shively’s Moving and Storage for over 40 years, until her recent retirement. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Bethlehem. Diane was a member of the North End Wanderers Athletic Associatio­n and the 540 Democratic Club of Bethlehem. She will be remembered for her kindness, selflessne­ss and generosity, always putting others ahead of herself. Diane had many friends and

loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her Saturday shopping sprees with her sister Ann. She took pride in her home with designing and decorating it and kept every holiday special with her beautiful decoration­s.

She is preceded in death by four brothers; Charles,

Paul, Richard, and Robert; and two sisters, June Cope and Shirley Strokelitu­s.

Diane is survived by son Joseph G. Garland (Dawn) and grandsons, Joseph, Jr. and Mason; two brothers, Donald (Carol) and Thomas (Jan) Breidenbac­h; five sisters,

Jane Fisher (Lin), Lucille Ratarsky (Jack), Jean Radford (William), Mary Ann Stahler (Gary), Linda Budzyn (Joseph), and Ann Anthony (Richard). Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Bethlehem Memorial Park, Linden Street, Bethlehem,

PA.
