Jane Gambone

Jane (Sharkey) Gambone, age 89, died peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Shannondell in Audubon, PA. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Hazel (Lamkin) Sharkey. Survivors include her husband, Salvatore; son, Gian Carlo and his wife, Shannon Gallagher; brother, Brian Sharkey and his wife, Ann; sisters-inlaw, Pearl Ritrovato and Amelia Brodie; and many nieces and nephews of the extended Gambone and Sharkey Families.

Jane was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School and West Chester State Teachers College (now University). Prior to marriage, she worked as a music consultant for a large textbook publisher, giving workshops in schools throughout the Northeastern states. After marriage, she was a homemaker raising her son. Later years she was a substitute music teacher in the Allentown and Parkland School Districts.

Jane and her husband sang in the choir at the Cathedral of Saint Catherine of Siena for many years. She was an active member of the Allentown Music Club, singing in recitals through the years. She was coached by the late Miriam Keech.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jane’s viewing at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd., Trooper, PA 19403 on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 9 to 9:45 am; with her Funeral Mass starting at 10:00 am. Interment

will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. The family requests there be no flowers sent but Mass Intentions would be appreciated.
