Wilson’s Millen, Northern Lehigh’s Amorim in record books

Jackson Millen is all of 5-foot-8, 160 pounds. He is a freshman. He is in the Wilson football record books eight games into his career.

The linebacker was in on a school-record 23 tackles in last Saturday’s loss to Bangor. Millen broke Chuck Reiss’ 41-yearold record of 22 set in a 1980 game against Southern Lehigh.

Millen leads the Warriors this season with 76 tackles.

Northern Lehigh senior athlete Trevor Amorim also put his name in the record book. His 63 receiving yards in last Friday’s win over Pen Argyl gave him 1,471 career yards, breaking Duke Lilly’s school mark of 1,443 set 53 years ago.

Amorim needs 12 receptions and five touchdown catches to equal other Bulldogs program records.

Saucon Valley senior Ty Csencsits broke Nate Harka’s school record (1,302) for career receiving yardage. Csencsits also is closing in the program marks for receptions (83) and receiving touchdowns (17).

North Schuylkill’s Josh Chowansky is the program’s career rushing leader after getting 71 yards in a win over Salisbury. The senior now has 3,045 in his career, breaking the previous mark of 2,993. His 32 TDs are eight shy of the Spartans’ career mark.

Paul Burkholder, Bangor: Had two sacks and a fumble recovery in a victory at Wilson.

Kael Godshalk, Bangor: Rushed for 110 yards and one TD against Wilson.

Eric Striba, Bangor: Ran for 177 yards and four touchdowns at Wilson.

Jacob Weaver, Bangor: Had four sacks among his five tackles for loss (seven total tackles) and a hurry that led to an intercepti­on at Wilson.

Christian Fye, Catasauqua: Threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score in a victory over Pine Grove in the Rough Riders’ season debut at Alumni Field.

Elijah Soler, Catasauqua: Rushed for 98 yards, caught a 26-yard pass, made six tackles, including a sack, and intercepte­d three passes against Pine Grove.

Wyatt Younes, Catasauqua: Caught an 80-yard TD pass and returned a kickoff 91 yards for a score against Pine Grove. Hunter Crum, Lehighton: Caught seven passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Saucon Valley.

221 yards and a touchdown against Saucon Valley.

Matt Martin, Marian Catholic: Rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns and made 13 tackles in a victory over Nativity BVM. Joey Walko, Marian Catholic: Made a team-high 14 tackles and had three hurries against Nativity BVM.

Matt Frame, Northern Lehigh: Rushed for 155 yards and four touchdowns, caught a 13-yard TD pass and made four tackles in a win over Pen Argyl.

Dylan Smoyer, Northern Lehigh: Completed eight of 13 passes for 161 yards and three TDs against Pen Argyl.

Justin Holmes, Northweste­rn: Rushed for 159 yards, passed for 70 more, had one intercepti­on, one forced fumble and eight tackles, including three for loss and one sack, in a win over Pottsville.

Andrew Sabo, Northweste­rn: Had nine tackles, including two sacks and another tackle for loss, against Pottsville.

Taylor Wikert, Northweste­rn: Had a team-high 11 tackles against Pottsville. Logan Castellano, Notre Dame-GP: Rushed for 50 yards and two TDs and made nine tackles, including three for loss (1.5 sacks), in a win over Palisades.

Danny Darno, Notre Dame-GP: Completed 16 of 24 passes for 199 yards and one TD in his first varsity start, a win over Palisades.

Anthony Pez, Notre Dame-GP: Made a career-high 11 tackles against Palisades. Steven Lilly, Palisades: Rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown in a loss at Notre Dame-GP.

Danny Lucykanish, Palmerton: Ran for 100 yards and two TDs on just five carries in a win over Mahanoy Area.

Matt Machalik, Palmerton: Rushed for 240 yards and three touchdowns against Mahanoy Area.

Cole Dorshimer, Pen Argyl: Ran for 127 yards and two TDs, passed for 144 and one score, ran for a two-point conversion and made four tackles in a loss to Northern Lehigh.

Damian Tyminski, Pen Argyl: Caught three passes for 47 yards, caught a two-point conversion, made seven tackles and had an intercepti­on against Northern Lehigh.

Josh Beck, Salisbury: Made three tackles, including one for loss and another for a sack, in a loss at North Schuylkill.

Travis Riefenstah­l, Saucon Valley: Subbing for injured QB Dante Mahaffey, he threw a touchdown pass and rushed for two more, including the game-winning 1-yarder with 2 minutes, 50 seconds left in a win at Lehighton.

Jack Robertson, Saucon Valley: Recorded two intercepti­ons, one to stop a Lehighton drive in the end zone at the end of the first half and the second one that led to Saucon’s game-winning touchdown.

Blaze Curry, Southern Lehigh: Rushed for 103 yards and made two tackles in a win over Blue Mountain.

James Wisecarver, Southern Lehigh: Completed six of seven passes for 150 yards and two TDs, including the game winner to Nick Ventresca with 8:03 left in a win over Blue Mountain. Also had two tackles.

Nathan King, Wilson: Had a career-high 15 tackles in a loss to Bangor.

Jackson Millen, Wilson: Made a schoolreco­rd 23 tackles against Bangor.
