LVHN adds 3rd site for drive-thru flu clinic

-

Lehigh Valley Health Network has added a third location for its drive-thru flu clinic program, the first time in the history of the 24-year program.

Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hecktown Oaks in Lower Nazareth Township will host a clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 13. The site, which is the network’s first hospital in Northampton County, opened in June.

Shots will be given to adults and children 6 months and older. LVHN announced this month it would host two drive-thru sessions: from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 6 and 7 at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. Dorney Park was not available for the clinics this year.

Here is some other information for those going to the clinics:

Anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 or is confirmed to have it, regardless of symptoms, should not come to the flu clinics.

Adults and children aged 2 and older in the vehicle will be required to wear a face covering, as will all those working the vaccination clinic.

A vaccine information statement, consent form and map of the vaccination route for Coca-Cola Park are available at lvhn.org/flushot. Each person receiving a flu shot needs a completed and signed 2020-21 consent form.

Wear loose-fitting clothing to the clinic. This makes getting the shot in the arm easier. Children under 2 will get shots in their legs.

People can bring along a nonperishable food item as the clinics will again be accepting donations. Food donations are optional and not required to receive a shot. Volunteers will also be collecting other items to assist those in need in the community. These include things such as diapers, personal hygiene products, coffee pods and disinfectant wipes.
