Astrid Gonzalez Parrilla has joined Good Shepherd Rehabilita­tion Network as senior vice president, clinical operations.

An occupation­al therapist by training with a deep passion for rehabilita­tion, Gonzalez Parrilla oversees Good Shepherd’s adult and pediatric inpatient rehabilita­tion hospitals in Allentown and Bethlehem, long-term acute care hospital in Bethlehem, home health, long-term care facilities for nearly 160 residents in Allentown and Bethlehem, and the admissions department. She serves on Good Shepherd’s Senior Leadership Team.

A native of Puerto Rico, Gonzalez Parrilla arrived at Good Shepherd and the Lehigh Valley from Brooks Rehabilita­tion in Florida, where she served as vice president of operations for the Brooks-Halifax Health partnershi­p. In that role, Gonzalez Parrilla oversaw the strategic direction, fiscal management and day-to-day operations of the physician practice, a 40-bed inpatient rehabilita­tion facility, adult and pediatric outpatient services and acute-care therapy department­s.

Gonzalez Parrilla is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, with a degree in occupation­al therapy. She earned a master’s degree in business administra­tion from Columbia Southern University and a doctorate in occupation­al therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Care Profession­s in 2014.

She is board certified as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a Commission on Accreditat­ion of Rehabilita­tion Facilities (CARF) surveyor, and a member of the American Occupation­al Therapy Associatio­n (AOTA), National Associatio­n of Latino Healthcare Executives (NALHE) and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

St. Luke’s director of developmen­t, Kelly Chando, has been included in the Associatio­n for Healthcare Philanthro­py (AHP) 40 Under 40 List.

The 40 Under 40 program is designed to recognize the future leaders within the health care philanthro­py community. AHP honors these 40 young profession­als because they are shaping the future of the health care industry, one campaign at a time.

Chando began her career in health care philanthro­py at St. Luke’s University Health Network in September 2018. Kelly secured $3.1 million for the “Heart of the City” campaign, supporting St. Luke’s Sacred Heart Campus. She has also secured a first-time $250,000 challenge match to accelerate the growth of St. Luke’s dental program, providing quality affordable care for underserve­d families, and continues to support the St. Luke’s Allentown Campus and their initiative­s

The Associatio­n for Healthcare Philanthro­py (AHP), establishe­d in 1967, is an internatio­nal profession­al organizati­on dedicated exclusivel­y to developmen­t profession­als who encourage charity in North America’s health care organizati­ons. AHP’s 4,500 members represent more than 2,200 health care facilities around the world.
