2006: Tommy Reilly scores three goals to lead Emmaus (17-4-3) past Allen (16-5-2) 4-1 and to its third straight District 11 Class 3A soccer title.

1996: Emmaus surrenders its first two goals of the season and needs Carrie Phillip’s game-winner with 1:30 left to beat Nazareth 3-2 and win its eighth straight District 11 Class 3A field hockey championsh­ip under coach Sue Butz-Stavin.

1996: East Stroudsbur­g University’s Damian Poalucci throws for an NCAA Division II single-season record 616 yards and ties the PSAC record with seven touchdown passes in a 51-12 win at Mansfield. Poalucci, who is 27-for-42, breaks the mark by two yards with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Mike Mancuso with 6:43 left for the Warriors’ final score.

1996: Komlan Lonegan runs for a school-record 267 yards on 17 carries and sets an East Penn Conference record with seven touchdowns in Central Catholic’s 70-40 win over Bethlehem Catholic. The 70 points is also a Viking record, breaking the mark they broke from 1946 the previous week against Allen.

1996: East Stroudsbur­g High’s James Mungro scores five touchdowns to break Terrin Ash’s (Honesdale) Pennsylvan­ia-career mark with 117 and also runs for 336 yards in the Cavaliers’ 54-21 win over Hazleton.

1991: Notre Dame’s Ric Schumacher passes Selinsgrov­e’s Mike Stoudt to become the state’s career passing leader in a 15-14 win over Belvidere. Schumacher’s 113 yards gives him 6,337, 27 more than Stoudt’s mark.

1991: Northern Lehigh’s Bob Chandler finishes third in the PIAA Class 2A boys cross country race for the second straight year.
