Jean E. Olenwine, 93, of Country Meadows, Bethlehem passes away peacefully November

15, 2021. Born October

19, 1928 in Allentown, she was the daughter of Harvey Knecht and Caroline (Gaumer)Knecht. She was the wife of the late Sherwood "Chip" Olenwine who passed away September 27, 1977. Jean was a 1946 graduate of Allentown High School,

working at Mack Trucks and later employed at Moorestown Hotel and the form Cross Timbers Inn in Easton.

She was a member of St. John's UCC in Nazareth. She was an avid card player, involved in several card clubs, and always enjoyed hosting family holiday gatherings. Her Pennsylvan­ia Dutch chicken potpie, pork and sauerkraut, and ham and string bean soup were signature dishes.

She is survived by daughter Karen Curtis, son Gary Olenwine and wife Cynthia Hanner Olenwine, DMD, all of Nazareth, son Scott Olenwine and wife Melanie of Bethlehem Township, and grandchild­ren Eric Curtis and

wife Kara of Salisbury, Maryland, Amanda Porter and husband Sean of Clarksburg, Maryland, Shane Olenwine and Dylan Olenwine, both of Nazareth, great granddaugh­ter Avery Curtis, and many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her son-in-law Curt Curtis, long time companion Jerry Kershner, brothers Leon, Paul, Roy, Robert, and sister Grace Yost.

Friends and relatives are invited to call Friday, Nov. 19 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., funeral service to follow at Schmidt Funeral Home, Belvidere Street, Nazareth.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be made to St. John's UCC, Broad Street, Nazareth.
