Nancy J. (Lorenz) Schaffer
Nancy J. Schaffer, 82, of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Devon House,
Allentown. She was the wife of the late Claude H. (Nick) Schaffer, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Pauline (Gessner) Lorenz. She was a member of The Cathedral Church of
St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown. Before retiring in 1997, she was a visiting nurse, hospice and homemaker for Lehigh Valley Homemakers for 27 years. She was a graduate of William Allen High School. She enjoyed music, dancing, traveling and gardening, and especially her Dallas Cowboys. Though she suffered from a long term illness, she tried so hard every day to continue to be the mother/grandmother she had always been. She was an extremely strong and resilient person who always went above and beyond to make everything just right. She loved her family and friends more than anything and her faith in God brought endless peace to her heart. We wanted to keep her here with us forever, but He decided she was needed for a more amazing role.
