James M. Kovacs, 67, of Bethlehem died Monday, November 15, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill Campus. Born in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Betty

Mae (Romig) and John R. Kovacs, Sr. James was married to Diane (Eckhart) Kovacs with whom he celebrated 46 years of

marriage this past August. James was the former owner and operator of Kovacs Roofing and General Contractor­s. He also ran his own DJ business called DJ Jimmy K. and the Original Sounds and Disc

Jockey, which he thoroughly enjoyed. James was a member of various social clubs in Bethlehem and played in numerous bowling, dart, and pool leagues. He would hunt and fish, and throughout most of his life he was an avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle rider.

James will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane, sister, Bonnie Palinkas wife of Louis, Sr., mother-in-law, Frances Eckhart, sisters-in-law, Rita Kovacs and Kriss Kovacs, brothers-in-law, David Eckhart, Dennis Eckhart

and wife Carol, and Donald Eckhart, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his four legged children, Tiffy, Snowy, Lily, and Precious. James was preceded in death by his brothers, John “Johnny Boy” R. Kovacs, Jr. and Bruce Kovacs, father-in-law, Charles Eckhart, and nephew, Dylan Kovacs.

A viewing will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA from 7-9 PM. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 10-11 AM in the funeral home followed by a service at 11 AM. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown.
