Bernice G. “Bernie” Marlatt, 79, of Slatington passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, in her home. She was the loving wife of the late Richard Marlatt for 43 years until his passing, on October

20, 2007. Together they raised their six children.

Born in Allentown on

June 30, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence (Mill) Arndt. Bernice retired from B. Braun in 2002.

Prior to that, she worked for the former Fernbrook Manufactur­ing as a sewing machine operator. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington. Bernie had a great love for cats. She was a volunteer at Forgotten Felines for several years, cleaning and taking care of the cats, plus giving lots of love and attention to each one. Over the years, she would trap stray cats, and with the help of

Forgotten Felines, find homes for them – many times her own.

Bernice is survived by a sister: Patricia Arndt of Walnutport; daughters: Marilyn Marlatt of FL, Cynthia and husband Glenn Levandusky of Palmerton, Debra and husband John Holderman of Bethlehem Twsp; 4 grandchild­ren; 2 great-grandchild­ren. She was predecease­d by sons, Bruce, Dwayne, and Joel Marlatt, brothers: Larry and Donald Arndt and a sister, Nancy Jacovodies.

Funeral services will be private, at the convenienc­e of the family. Interment to be held at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington. Arrangemen­ts are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be made to either Forgotten Felines & Fidos or St. John’s Lutheran Church, c/o the funeral

home.
