Dennis S. Knopf
Dennis S. Knopf, 70, of Whitehall, cashed in his last lottery ticket on November 21, 2021, passing away at home surrounded by his loving family. God broke the mold when Dennis was born June 22, 1951 in Northampton to Helen (Szep) Knopf and the late Stephen "Nabby" Knopf. Born into a large extended family, he was one of the eldest cousins, and took
on the task of babysitting and torturing his younger sister and his gazillion cousins; whom all loved and admired him. As a teen Dennis purchased his cherished Ford Model-A and had been tinkering to remodel it,
this heirloom will be passed to his children to continue and honor his legacy. In 1970 Dennis hit the Jackpot when he met the love of his life, Constance "Connie" Keppel, his ability to make her laugh led to the celebration of 47 years of marriage on June 8th. Dennis was a self-taught contractor and was the foreman of multiple villas within the Knopf empire. His beloved and worn tools, which are scattered throughout the empire will greatly miss his shaky hands. Some of his most joyous times were tailgating at Penn State with his family and treasured Skamper (RIP), golf outings with his retirement crew, his hole in one shot, and watching NASCAR. But above all, his most prized moments were with his family; days spent playing with the Loves of his Life - his grandchildren Campbell, Stevie, and Bo, and family trips to the beach. Being an amazing father and grandfather was his most important achievement in life. He always put his family first. Dennis was an incredible man, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, he will live on in our hearts, memories and laughter. Dennis was a blood donor his whole life and in death he will continue to give, following his wishes, Dennis's body was donated to medical research. Survivors: wife, Connie and mother, Helen; daughters, Stacey - wife of Larry Bender, and Tara Knopf; son, Brian Knopf and his wife Bridget; grandchildren Campbell Bender, Bo Bender and Stevie Knopf; sister, Brenda - wife of Mike Wunsch; and nephew, Austin Wunsch; goddaughter, Janelle (Zack) Schulze; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:45 AM in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Penn Neuroendocrine Cancer Program in loving memory of Dennis. Arrangements by Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.
