James Perez
James “Jimmy” Perez, 78, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He was born May 3, 1943, in Salinas, Puerto Rico; son of Jose Angel Perez and Gregoria (Santiago) Perez. James served as a military police officer in the US Army. He also worked as a steelworker for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. and later in the parking services department of Lehigh University. He dedicated many years of his life as both a baseball coach and mentor to many young men in the South Side Little League baseball organization. An avid sports fan, Jimmy loved the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles but most of all he loved watching his children participate in various sports at Bethlehem Catholic High School. He will be dearly missed by his sons, Pedro E. Rosado and wife, Sherri; Miguel A. Perez and wife, Jennifer; daughters, Marisol Perez; Angelina Hallman and husband, Brian; Jennifer Rothrock; brothers, Miguel, Pedro, Julio “Richie”, George, Rafael, Carlos and sister, Myrna; 11 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Luz; grandson, Jacob; and brothers, Angel and William.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and Friday, from 8:15-9:15 a.m. all at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA
