Geoffrey S. Chenworth,

59, of Schnecksville passed away suddenly Monday, March 14, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Kristin K. (Bruns) Chenworth to whom he was married 32 years. Born in Baltimore, MD, July 5, 1962, Geoff was the son of Lawrence R. Chenworth, Sr. and Joan G. (Weitzel) Chenworth both of Maryland. He owned the Geoffrey Chenworth Agency in Orefield since 2010. Prior to that, he worked at Press Ganey Associates, Biomedical Sciences, and Allergan Medical Optics.

Geoff graduated from Calvert Hall College High School in 1980, during which time he was a captain on the undefeated State Championship Football team of 1979. At a recent reunion to celebrate that team, he liked to point out that his trophy continues to be the biggest one in the trophy cabinent. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1984 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He was a 4-year starter and captain for Bucknell Men’s Lacrosse.

His love of lacrosse continued after college, as he helped to grow the sport in the Lehigh Valley through the Schnecksville Playground Association starting in 2000. Later he continued his involvement in the Lehigh Valley Lacrosse community coaching high school boys lacrosse at Parkland, Central Catholic, and most recently, Northampton. Throughout the years, he was instrumental in growing the sport from a community volunteer effort to present, where 20 years later, the Lehigh Valley is recognized as a hotbed of the sport, with multiple teams vying for and ultimately winning the state championship.

In addition to coaching and mentoring in lacrosse,

Geoff enjoyed cultivating his backyard garden full of tomatoes, peppers, asparagus, and various berries (that were incredibly popular among the neighborhood birds). In the past few years, he started mountain biking at the Trexler Game Preserve and became involved with volunteering on their trail maintence crews. Most of all, his happy place outside the lacrosse field was either sitting by the pool or at the beach with a book in his hand.
