2011: Lehigh sophomore Robert Hamlin makes history as he wins his quarterfin­al and semifinal bouts at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championsh­ips as the No. 2 seed at 184 pounds. Hamlin’s victory in the quarterfin­als made him the first Vermont native to earn All-American status in NCAA

Division I history. The Mountain Hawks’ Zach Rey, the top seed at 285 pounds, and Oklahoma State’s Jordan Oliver, an Easton graduate and top seed at 133 pounds, both earn berths in the finals as well.

2011: Emmaus’ Romain

DeCrop earns bronze in the 50 freestyle at the Class 3A PIAA state swimming and diving championsh­ips and he and his teammates, including Ryan Woltornist, Alex Muraro and Garrett Sharesky, also place third in the 200 free relay. Parkland’s girls 200 free relay team (Alexis Walley, Erica Reifinger, Megan Polaha and Emily Stang) takes third as well.

2006: Allen falls behind by 14 points in the first quarter, fights back to within five points in the fourth quarter but can’t complete the comeback in a 9789 loss to defending champion Chester in the PIAA Class 4A boys basketball tournament quarterfin­als at Reading. The Canaries, who finish their best season (27-5) in 26 years, get within 80-75 with 5:46 left and 92-87 with 1:10 left. Terrance Roderick scores 30 points and grabs 16 rebounds while Adrian Brown adds 26 points in the loss. 2006: Central Catholic (27-5) eases past Scranton Prep

49-33 to reach the PIAA Class 3A girls basketball tournament semifinals. Meanwhile, Rachel Connelly scores 14 points and Marian Catholic (30-2) outlasts previously unbeaten Girard College 50-47 to reach the

Class A semifinals where the Fillies will face old rival Pottsville Nativity.
