This week’s top 3 Lehigh Valley area concerts include a group that’s sold over 100 million records, an Irish folk group that went viral with a violin cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine,” and the only all-female Iron Maiden tribute band.

Known for hits like:

“Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” and “December, 1963 (Oh What a Night!)”

Honors: They’ve sold approximat­ely 100 million records worldwide, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. They had 39 singles and 21 albums hit the Billboard pop charts during the 1960s — breaking the top 10 a total of 13 times between ’62 and ’67. From 1962-1964 The Beach Boys were the only band to rival them in record sales, and their first three Vee-Jay Records singles was the first time any rock band took the number one spot on the Billboard singles charts with three back-toback releases.

Known for hits like: “The Sneezing Loon,” “Cedars Hours,” “Delay Set,” A violin cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine,” and an all-violin cover of A-Ha’s “Take on Me.”

Honors: Their cover of “Sweet Child of Mine” amassed over 16 million views on Facebook and was

shared more than 400,000 times. Their rendition of “Pound a Week Rise” hit number one on the US Folk DJ charts. They regularly perform at folk festivals across the US, and have released a songbook of numbers they’ve written or recorded over the past 20 years collective­ly and independen­tly.
