Mary P. (Smith) Metzker, 92, of Macungie, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 22, 2022 in her home. She was the wife of the late Deacon Daniel F. Metzker. Born in Birdsboro, Berks County, April 3, 1930, Mary was the daughter of the late George L. and Elizabeth J. (Lynch) Smith. She was employed as an executive secretary for the former Stanley Home Products. Active in the life of her church, Mary was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield where she was the organist for 48 years, taught C.C.D., and a member of the Women's Guild.

She enjoyed working with stained glass and oil painting.

Survivors: Children, David W. Metzker of Raleigh, NC, Dr. Mary C. Rutkowski of Center Valley, Eric L. Metzker and his wife, Carol, of West Chester, Mark E. Metzker of Kingston; 7 grandchild­ren, 3 great – grandchild­ren; predecease­d by children, Daniel, Suzanne, Ann Marie and siblings, Eleanor, Kathleen, George, James, William, Joseph.

Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church,1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 – 10:50 a.m. Friday in the church. Interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Birdsboro following the mass. The Heintzelma­n Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksvi­lle is in charge of arrangemen­ts. Online expression­s of sympathy
