Ronald C. Exner, 87, of Lehighton passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at St. Luke's HospitalMo­nroe Campus in Stroudsbur­g. He was the husband of the late Rena O. (Shupp) Exner who died on December 18, 2019.

Born on January 14, 1935, in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Luther Exner and Anna (Wagner) Zellner. He was a 1953 graduate of Lehighton Area High School.

Ronald was a US Air Force veteran serving from 1954 until retiring in 1974, reaching the rank of SMSgt. For his service during the Vietnam War, he received a Bronze Star and an Air Medal. Following his Military career, Ronald worked at Lehighton Electronic­s from 1974-79 as a Department Manager, Bethlehem Steel

from 1979-82 in the Basic Oxygen Furnace Department and Tobyhanna Army Depot from 1982 as an Automated Test Equipment Repair Leader until his retirement in 2000.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelica­l Lutheran Church, Lehighton, serving as the head Usher for many years.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts Explorers and was a past President of the Lehighton Band Boosters. Ronald loved spending time with his family,

especially attending his grandchild­ren's sporting events.

He is survived by his Son, Jay Exner husband of Sharon of Bethlehem, Daughters, Beth wife of Michael Steigerwal­t of Lehighton and Amy wife of Jason Coder of Bellefonte, Grandchild­ren, Derrick Steigerwal­t husband of Viktoriya Lupareva, Chris Steigerwal­t husband of Tiffany, Sean Steigerwal­t, and Ray Lenhart husband of Ashley, Great-Grandchild­ren, Landan and Brielle Steigerwal­t, Sophie and Sawyer Steigerwal­t, William Steigerwal­t and Mila Lenhart, Brothers, Lewis Exner husband of Evelyn of Lehighton, William Exner husband of Kathy of WA and Robert Exner husband of Diane of Lehighton, Sisters, Sara Flyzik of Lehighton, Patricia wife of Ronald Wieghorst of NC, and Karen Friebolin of Allentown. He was predecease­d by Brothers, Luther Exner and Leonard Zellner and Sisters, Linda Green and Cassie Exner.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 1st at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church
