Ira B. Lehrich
Ira B. Lehrich, 90, of Allentown, passed away on Thursday,
June 16, 2022, at
Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Lucille F. (Roth)
Lehrich. The couple would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on August 19. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Arthur and Betty (Perkin) Lehrich.
A graduate of Babson College in Wellesley, MA, he served his country in the Korean War. He was the founder and owner of Indian Creek Storage for the past 33 years, and previously was the owner of Ira Lehrich Construction Co. in Emmaus, PA. Ira established Waterfall Crossing and Watermill housing developments in Macungie, PA. He also built multiple single-family homes throughout the Lehigh Valley.
In the 1970s, he donated land to the Lehigh Valley Conservancy, Salisbury Township. He was active in the Lower Macungie township zoning board, agricultural conservation, and land conservation. He was a Condo Board Member at the Claridge Condo Association in Pompano Beach, Florida, where he lived part-time. Ira was an avid reader of history, politics, economics, the NY Times, and a beer aficionado. He enjoyed sailing on the Chesapeake, downhill skiing in the Poconos, and driving his bright red convertible.
Ira was honest to the core, knowledgeable and passionate about history, finance, and current events. He remained a creative inspiration to family, friends, and colleagues. He lived his life on his own terms.
Ira is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughters, Sarah and Iris; brothers, Henry and Paul
Lehrich; and grandchildren, Avigail, Gil, and Willow.
Services will be held graveside at 10:00 am Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Keneseth Israel Cemetery, Allentown, PA. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home,
Allentown.
