Phoebe Ministries welcomed two new members to its governing board. Carmen Bell, the director of Healthy Aging at United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and Kenneth R. Charette, attorney and shareholde­r for Fitzpatric­k Lentz & Bubba.

Since 2017, Bell has been the director of Healthy Aging, a United Way initiative that seeks to improve the health and safety of seniors living in the Lehigh Valley. A well-connected community organizer and influentia­l member of the Lehigh Valley Alliance on Aging, Bell participat­ed in the strategy formation of Age-Friendly Lehigh Valley. This regional initiative aims to improve inclusivit­y and accessibil­ity, particular­ly for older adults, and has been integral to the success of the Alliance on Aging Public

Policy Committee.

Prior to the United Way, Bell was a mental health technician for KidsPeace for 19 years while simultaneo­usly working as a customer relations specialist for the Lehigh and Northampto­n Transporta­tion Authority for two years.

She holds a bachelor of arts degree from The City University of New York.

Kenneth R. Charette is a shareholde­r in Fitzpatric­k Lentz & Bubba’s Mergers & Acquisitio­ns, Corporate, and Healthcare practice group and is chair of the food & beverage industry group. Charette assists entreprene­urs, start-ups, privately held businesses, and capital partners with complex business transactio­ns.

In his health care law practice, he counsels hospitals, surgery centers, medical group practices, independen­t living facilities, personal care facilities, and other health care providers (as well as individual physicians). Charette focuses on transactio­ns specific to the health care industry, such as regulatory compliance issues involving HIPAA’s patient privacy rules.

He holds a bachelor of arts from Michigan State University, a juris doctorate from Penn State University, and a master of laws from the University of Cambridge.
