James R. Greatsinge­r, 95, of Bethlehem

Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022 at

St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson. He was the husband of the late Helen E. (Ayres) Greatsinge­r with whom he shared over 66 years of loving marriage until her passing on April 7, 2015. Born in Elmira, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Rachel Greatsinge­r. James was a graduate of Southside High School, Elmira and Broome County Technical School. He honorably served his country in the

United States Navy and also served for the New York State Guard as a Battalion Commander for 14 years. James worked as a machine and tool designer for Westinghou­se for over 20 years. One of his most proud accomplish­ments was designing the camera that was installed on the rocket ship that went to the Moon. James was a Tall Cedar and was a proud Mason in the Jesse L. Cooley Lodge #966 of Elmira for 50 years. He was an avid sailing enthusiast and he enjoyed gardening and growing raspberrie­s and blackberri­es. James loved traveling especially with his wife as she called square dancing and he cued round dance. SURVIVORS: He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Cindy Greatsinge­r of Bethlehem Twp. and Linda Battistini of Philadelph­ia. He was preceded in death by his son Charles J. Greatsinge­r and brother William Greatsinge­r. SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held at

6 P.M. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 4 P.M. until time of the service. A memory tribute may be placed
