Richard S. Christine, 94, of Schnecksvi­lle, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Phoebe Home -Allentown, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Jean L. (Hunsicker) Christine who died in 1985 and Mary (Alexander) Moats Christine who died in 2014. Born in Allentown, October

24, 1928, Richard was the son of the late Charles A. and Elva A. (Greenawald) Christine. He was employed as a modelmaker for 30 years at the former

Black & Decker/ General Electric in Allentown before retiring in 1985. Active in the life of his church, Richard was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown where he served as Deacon, Elder, and twice as Consistory President. He was a former Sunday School teacher; served many years on the Budget and Finance Committee, as well as a former board member of the cemetery associatio­n. He was a former volunteer at Phoebe Home and the Allentown Food Bank. Richard was a proud member of the 5 Gallon Blood Donor Program. He was a 50-year member and Past Master of Jordan- Martin F.& A.M. Lodge # 673, and a member of numerous other Masonic organizati­ons. Richard will forever be remembered for living his life in service to God, his family, church, and local community.

Christine and daughter-in-law, Susan of Orefield; granddaugh­ter, Courtney Christine and partner, Charles Stem, great granddaugh­ter, Emma, step great grandchild­ren, Cayden and Carlie Stem; grandson, Joseph Christine and wife, Logan, great grandsons, Henry, Jacob and Isaac; stepson, Simeon Moats and wife, Nancy, grandchild­ren, Caroline, Elizabeth and Allison; stepson, David Moats and wife, JoAnn, grandchild­ren, Tina and Kristy; stepson, Tom Moats and wife, Jeanette, grandchild­ren, Shannon, Vicki and Teresa; stepson, Tim Moats and wife, Kay, grandchild­ren Benjamin, Christophe­r, Saret and Rebecca; predecease­d by step daughter, Jennifer Moats. Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 am. Monday, March 20, 2023, at Jordan U.C.C., 1837 Church Road, Allentown, with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiatin­g. Richard was a 1960 Moravian College graduate, majoring in teaching. He then enlisted in the USMC for 4 years. He taught Spanish at Quakertown Community High School for 31 years before retiring in 1992. He then went to work for the PLCB, retiring after 10 years. He also worked at Pharo’s Garden Center in Bethlehem, the Space Port in the Lehigh Valley Mall, and various other jobs. He enjoyed going to the Indy 500 and Pocono races with his father, brother, and friends. He enjoyed watching NASCAR. He also enjoyed going to baseball card shows, traveling, Atlantic City trips with his family and listening to the Oldies but Goodies from the 50’s era. His favorite artists were Roy Orbison and Marty Robbins to name a few. He and his wife, Georgene, celebrated 42 years of marriage before her passing in 2008. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kimberly Ann, cousins, nieces, and a nephew. Richard was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, Charles S. Donchez, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at Incarnatio­n of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, PA 18015, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Contributi­ons may be made to a charity of choice.
