Ronald J. Freed, 53, of Slatington, passed away unexpected­ly while attending his annual trip to Daytona Beach for Bike Week with his son and daughter-in-law. He was the husband of Dana L. (Diefenderf­er) Freed, whom he married June 18, 2010. Born in Palmerton on November 3, 1969, he was the son of Alice (Christman) husband of Bill Billman of Danielsvil­le and the late John Freed. For many years, Ron worked for Hannabery HVAC, and held various positions including, laborer / technician, salesman, and supervisor. Ron was an avid motorcycle rider, he also enjoyed canning, gardening, fishing, building cars, collecting and shooting guns, and most of all – spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife and mother, he will be lovingly remembered by children: Johnathon L. Freed and wife Jessica of Walnutport, Jenna L. Freed and fiancé Nick Demko of Walnutport, Tiffany A. and husband Adam J. Goldstein of Macungie, Mitchell R. Demko and wife Ashleigh of Reynolds; grandchild­ren: Johnathon, Scarlett, Bryce, Bearett, Jaxton, Beckett Julia, Jemma, Ellowynn, Jaylon; sister: Jody Freed.

A funeral service will be held at 12PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 10AM to 12PM. A motorcycle procession will lead to the interment at Union Cemetery, Slatington, all motorcycle­s welcome!

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be made in Ron’s memory to the Ron Freed’s Grandchild­ren’s future education needs.

Checks can be made payable to the funeral home with Ron’s name in the memo.

Dolores was world renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and knack for telling it like it is. She was honored by the City of New York for her exemplary service to the community and the well being of children.

Survivors: Husband Michael Karlick and many children, grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren of whom she even knew and loved in her own way.
