Bertha R. (Getz) Gersbach, 100, formerly of Slatington, passed away on Sunday, September

17, 2023, at the

Summit Nursing

Home, Lehighton.

She was the wife of the late Willard C. Gersbach for 68 years, prior to his passing in 2012. Born in Franklin Township, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Lauretta (Boorem) Getz. Bertha worked as a folder for the former Paris Accessorie­s, Walnutport, for many years. She was a member of St. John's UCC, Slatington and sang in the choir for over 50 years. Bertha served as past secretary for the Slatington Music Club, was a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and Cub Scout Den mother.

She will be lovingly remembered by sons: Fred Gersbach and wife Diane of Slatington. Willard Gersbach and partner Rodney Karr of Walnut Creek, CA; grandchild­ren: Leah, Eric and partner Sue Weston and daughter Hailey. The last survivor of 10 siblings, she was predecease­d by twin sister Beatrice Long, sisters, Leona Fisher, Anita Becker, brothers, Fred, Walter, Henry, Clarence, Curleigh, and Robert Getz.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM. Interment to follow at Towamensin­g Cemetery, Palmerton. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be sent to St. John's UCC, Endowment Fund, 15 S. 2nd Street, Slatington PA 18080. Her family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Summit Nursing Home staff for their attentive care!
