Paula Ann (Calvo) Wilson
Paula Ann Wilson,
72, of Lower Saucon Township, died unexpectedly on September 14th, 2023. She was born on September 9th, 1951 in Bethlehem, PA.
She will be affectionately remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother. Paula lived a life of joy and kindness and will be remembered for the genuine warmth she extended to all those she encountered.
She had a passion for cooking and especially enjoyed opening her home to friends and family for holidays, sporting events and celebrating life's moments. Paula was an active member of the Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church and a member of their bible study group.
Paula is the daughter of the late Paul J. and Agnes (Slaninka) Calvo. She was a 1969 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, where she met and fell in love with her husband of 48 years, Hugh Wilson. Paula went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College.
Paula's fondness for education and affection of children led her to serve as an elementary school teacher in the Bethlehem Area School District and a substitute teacher at Nativity Parish School in Leawood, KS and St. Michael the Archangel School in Limeport, PA. She would consider her most important work as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She will be dearly missed by her husband,
Hugh; children, Hugh Paul and wife, Julie; Jeffrery; Andrew and wife, Caitlin; and Jennifer (Wilson) Williams and husband, Troy; and nine grandchildren, Alexandra, Julianne, Grace, Sophie, Emilia, Brett, Layla, Patrick, and granddaughter, Nora, who will be born in February. Paula is also survived by her sisters, Jane
Calvo, Tina Calvo, and Lisa Calvo, as well as her extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21st from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again on Friday, September 22nd from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Assumption B.V.M. Roman Catholic Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
