Hilda A. (Legath) Koetting

95 years of age and resident of Whitehall, passed away peacefully early Monday morning December 11, 2023. Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Kroboth) Legath. She was the longtime companion of William L. "Whitey" Fortney, Jr. until his passing in 2020. A 1946 graduate of Coplay High School, Hilda was a Quality Assurance Inspector for over 42 years at Western Electric retiring in 1991. She was a member of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, and Past President of the Business Women’s Associatio­n. Hilda greatly enjoyed her many visits to the Coplay Saengerbun­d. She is survived by her sister Mary Ann L. Sutton with husband Richard of Naples, Florida, and brother John F. Legath of Whitehall; two grandchild­ren and four great grandchild­ren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends; Hilda was predecease­d by her daughter Kathleen Hartsock, her brother Frank with his wife Jean (Reichard) Legath, and sister in law Claire E. Legath.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Stanley Moczydlows­ki on Monday December 18, 2023 at 10:00 am in Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church 618 Fullerton Ave. Whitehall, PA 18052, where her viewing will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow in Saint Peter Catholic Cemetery, Whitehall.
