Charles E. Kovacs, 76, of Bethlehem, passed away on December 26, 2023. He was born on September 27, 1947, in Bethlehem to the late Frank and Helen (Toth) Kovacs.

Charles will be lovingly remembered as a kind, simple, and patient man. He had a great passion for sports, especially baseball. Charles attended as many sporting events as he was able, and he was an avid Notre Dame, Colts, Iron Pigs, and Phillies fan. Growing up in the shadow of Taylor Stadium, Charles became a devoted supporter of Lehigh University Athletics at an early age. Dubbed “Mr. Lehigh”, he could often be found at women's basketball, softball, and football games. He appreciated the relationships that were created at those events and the friendships made through those that he met through the Lehigh South Side Boosters.

His network of friends was extended to his days of playing softball, and bowling at the National Sokols, as well as those that he met in his 47-year career at SureFit, where he worked as a shipper.

He will be dearly missed by his sister, Barbara A. Karabin, with whom he shared a special bond. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
