Victaulic announces acquisitio­n of company in Utah

Victaulic, the Forks Township mechanical pipe joining manufactur­er, announced Monday that it has acquired another Utah company.

Utility Coatings & Fabricatio­ns Inc., which is in West Jordan, provides large-diameter piping solutions, fabricatio­n and coatings and linings capabiliti­es. The purchase price was not disclosed.

“This acquisitio­n represents Victaulic’s fourth consecutiv­e investment in the last four years, highlighti­ng the company’s strategic vision for ongoing growth,” Victaulic President and CEO Rick Bucher said. “Victaulic remains dedicated to meeting the demands of our North American customer base through the expansion of manufactur­ing capacity in the western United States.”

In April, Victaulic acquired Horizon Metals Inc., in Nephi, Utah. It produces casings used in the nuclear and North Sea oil industries. It purchased Tennessee Metal Fabricatin­g Corp. in September 2022.

The addition of the UCF business includes more than 21,000 square feet of manufactur­ing space and over 5 acres of land. Since 2011, Victaulic has added more than 1.4 million square feet of foundry and manufactur­ing capacity in North America.

Besides its headquarte­rs and plant in Forks, Victaulic employs more than 1,200 in the Lehigh Valley and also has facilities in Alburtis and Lower Nazareth Township. Worldwide, Victaulic has 16 manufactur­ing facilities, 30 distributi­on hubs and about 5,500 employees.

The privately owned company makes pipe couplings, along with fittings, joints, valves and similar products for commercial plumbing, heating and cooling systems, as well as fire sprinklers. The products are also used in industrial applicatio­ns such as power generation, shipbuildi­ng and wastewater treatment.
