John S. Polzer

John S. Polzer, 87 of Whitehall- Cementon, PA, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA. Born October 7, 1936 in Northampto­n, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen I. Polzer and the late Josephine (Horvath) Polzer. He was the husband of the late Patsy K. (Stewart) Polzer who passed away September 28, 2013.

John was a graduate of Northampto­n High School who went on to work for the former Cross Country Clothes / Fashion 500 Group, Northampto­n as a Computer Marker for 43 years until it's closing in 1995. He then worked for Lehigh-Carbon Intermedia­te Unit as a Bus Aide and Van Driver from 1998-1999. John was a life long member of Our Lady of Hungary / Queenship of Mary R.C. Church, Northampto­n, PA. He was a life member of both the Alliance Fire Co. and Liederkran­z of Northampto­n. Life member of the Laurel Fire Co., Cementon, PA John formerly served as recording Secretary,

Life member and Past Treasurer for the Cementon A.A. and was also former Biddie League coach. He was a Member of the Catholic War Veterans Post #454, Northampto­n and served a few years on their Honor Guard squad. John served his country as a Spec. 4th grade in the US Army from 1957-1959.

Surviving are son, Timothy J. Polzer and wife Denise of Coplay, PA, daughters, Susan J. wife of Robert Belcher of East Sandwich, MA, and Christine L. wife of John W. Csencsits of Northampto­n, PA sisters, Patricia wife of Michael Peapos of L. Nazareth Twsp., PA and Mrs. Marie Faryna of Catasauqua, PA; 6 grandchild­ren; Olivia wife of Tyler Howell, Zachary Polzer and wife Summer, Kelsey and, Skyler Belcher, Kayla wife of Nicholas Cassium, and Ian Csencsits. A great-grandson Rhys Howell and many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by a brother, Stephen, and 4 sisters, Pauline Polzer, Stella Taus, Anna Wiggins, and Margaret Csencsits.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday March 8, 2024 at Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, 1324 Newport Avenue, Northampto­n, PA 18067 with the Rev. Fr, Patrick Lamb officiatin­g. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampto­n, PA 18067. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampto­n, PA.
