Elizabeth L. Plessl, 94, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital in Allentown. She was the wife of the late Walter Plessl, who passed away in 2009.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William W. Bradley and Lottie E. Bradley Skelding. Elizabeth attended Allentown High School, where she valued her time as a majorette. She found great joy in her work at the Sharon Plessl School of Dance, being fondly remembered by many as “Miss Betty” and “Mammy.” Throughout the years, she always sat front and center at every dance recital and accompanie­d the dancers to countless performanc­es, including the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. She absolutely adored the students, showering them with endless treats after dance class, endearing her as everyone's Mammy.

Betty was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Allentown. Her hobbies included visiting Atlantic City, enjoying countless casino trips, scratching off lottery tickets, and cherishing time with loving friends at the Sunrise Diner, her second home. She loved her CocaCola and treated herself to regular hair and nail appointmen­ts. She embodied a determined spirit and enormous heart. She was truly loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra L. Yencho and her husband Gary of Allentown and Sharon E. Pongracz, widow of the late Carlman L. Pongracz Jr.; 2 granddaugh­ters, Trisha L. Pongracz-Zehner McGlade and her husband Charles “Chooch” and Erica Riccione and her husband Nick; 1 great-granddaugh­ter, Morgyn Payton-Elizabeth Zehner. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother, William T. Bradley and her sister-in-law, Helen Plessl, whom she cared for deeply and served as her devoted caretaker for many years before her passing.

Services: A viewing will be held Friday evening, March 8, 2024, from 6-8 PM and Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM in the

K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehann­a Street, Allentown. A funeral service will be held on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
