It is with great sadness that the family of Leonard J. Windish of Bethlehem Township,

PA, announce his passing from this life on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospice House at the age of 89. Leonard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy H. Windish (Bacak); children, Leonard A. Windish (Kim) of Newtown, PA, Richard R. Windish

(Kelli) of Burke VA, and Janice Russell (Dan) of Phoenix, AZ; and grandchild­ren, Cobe Bourbon, Amber Bourbon, and Priscilla Windish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen F.and Helen A. Windish (Bertalon) and brother, Robert Windish.

Leonard was born in Allentown, PA on June 9, 1934. He served our country in the United States Army where he was stationed at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY and at Fort Belvoir in Virginia until 1959. After his military service, Leonard earned his bachelor's degree in liberal arts with a focus on Accounting and Economics fromMuhlen­berg College. He had a long career as an accountant, retiring in 2004 from his job as a State Auditor with the Commonweal­th of Pennsylvan­ia. Leonard's Catholic faith was a cornerston­e of his life. He was a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, exemplifyi­ng their principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. Additional­ly, he enjoyed golfing, and was a faithful NY Jets fan. Leonard found joy in volunteeri­ng at the Crayola Factory in Easton and at Musikfest in Bethlehem for many years. He could be found working on Sudoku puzzles during his spare time. As a dedicated husband, father, grandfathe­r, and friend, he will always be cherished and remembered for his strength, perseveran­ce, and patience.

Friends and family are invited to his viewing 10:30-11:30 am Friday, March 8, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, PA 18020 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am.
