Allentown schools won’t hold classes on Election Day, April 23

-

Allentown School District students will not have classes on Election Day next month because many schools are serving as polling locations.

Students will not report to school April 23, and the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment exams will not be administered that day. The 2023-24 PSSA testing window runs April 22 to May 10 with intervals for certain subjects and make-up tests.

Allentown students who attend Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, as well as those enrolled in early college programming, still will report to their classes in person on Election Day. Transportation will be provided.

Teachers will have a professional development day.
