‘Beast Games’ to offer $5M prize
MrBeast, YouTube’s most profitable content creator, is bringing his “biggest project ever” to Amazon Prime Video with a $5 million prize.
The popular internet celebrity, known for extreme stunts and surprising acts of philanthropy, has announced a deal to bring his “Beast Games” to the paid streaming service.

I’m going to be filming the largest game show in history and releasing it on Prime Video!,” he shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, recently. “Over 1,000 contestants, $5,000,000 prize, and many other world records.. I’ll reveal more later this year but let’s just say, it’s gonna be an insane show.”
“Beast Games” is based on his YouTube show of the same title, where contestants representing different countries compete in extreme versions of Olympic sports such as archery, soccer and fencing. Libya won the $250,000 gold medal prize in 2023.
MrBeast, the internet moniker of Jimmy Donaldson, has created more than 800 videos on the platform — including his real-life re-creation of Netflix’s “Squid Game” — since
2016 and built a captive audience of more than 245 million subscribers.
The 25-year-old content creator will serve as the new series’ host and an executive producer. Terms of the deal reportedly allow him to continue to make his YouTube series and retain creative control.
Amazon MGM Studios chief Jennifer Salke said in a statement that “MrBeast has captured the attention and imagination of fans of all ages, from all walks of life, and all over the world.”
The $5 million “Beast Games” prize is considered
the biggest single prize in the history of television and streaming.
‘Euphoria’ Season 3 delayed:
The show may go on for “Euphoria,” but not anytime soon. Filming for the third season of the Emmy-winning HBO drama series, which premiered in 2019 and concluded its sophomore season in early 2022, has been paused because creator Sam Levinson is reportedly still tinkering with the scripts.
The cast has been given permission to take on other acting work in the meantime, Deadline reported recently.
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” the network said in a statement. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
Unidentified sources told the outlet that filming is expected to begin within the next couple of months, though no start date has been outlined.
HBO CEO Casey Bloys said in November that the series would be back in 2025. It may be later in the year than initially
anticipated now.
Dillard exits ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’:
Candiace Dillard Bassett is ready for a “new chapter” as she announces she is departing the “Real Housewives of Potomac” after six seasons.
Bassett, who has been on the show since Season 3, expressed her gratitude for the experience but cites “a whirlwind of new opportunities” as the reason for her departure.
“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” she said.
She does, however, hint that her exit might only be temporary. “This is not a farewell, but a ‘see you later,’ ” she added. “With
... new responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”
Remaining tight-lipped about exactly what those opportunities are, she assured fans she would eventually share more.
Bassett’s also a cast member on ALLBLK’s “Hush” and has appeared in multiple films on BET+.
