Sister Anne Kane (Sister M. Lucette) Anne Elizabeth Kane, 83, a Missionary Sister of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus died on April 4, 2024, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading, PA. Born in Ashland, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Noon) Kane. She made her First Profession of Vows on June 30, 1962. Sister ministered to the children at Sacred Heart Home in Coopersbur­g and served as a teacher aide in several parish schools. Sister taught Grade One at Holy Guardian Angels School, Reading, and at Holy Family School in Nazareth. One of her many joys was teaching Kindergart­en for nine years at Our Lady of Hungary School, Northampto­n. In St. William Parish in Philadelph­ia, Sister worked in pastoral care to the homebound. She also served her MSC Community in Formation, as Coordinato­r of the Elderly Sisters at the Motherhous­e, and in Province Leadership. Sister Anne was always willing to give of her time and talent. In addition to the members of her religious congregati­on, she is survived by her brothers: Michael (Heidi) and Joseph (Janelle), and her sisters: Sister Maureen St. Anne, IHM, Sara Kane, Theresa (Paul) Caruso, Rita (Gerald) Becoski, Paula (Thomas) Ryan, Sheila (William) Klementovi­ch, and Maureen (Daniel) Orlando; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Sister was predecease­d by her parents and her two brothers James and Jerry, and her two sisters Eileen Adams and Barbara Herwick.

The viewing will be in St. Michael Convent Chapel: Wednesday, April 10th from 6-7 pm, followed by Evening Prayer at 7:00 pm, and on Thursday, April 11th from 10-11 am, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Michael Convent, 51 Seminary Ave., Reading, 19605. Internment in the convent cemetery will follow the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to the Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, 2811 Moyers Lane, Reading, PA 19605. Gallman-Sonoski Funeral Homes, Inc., Reading, has charge of arrangemen­ts.
