Alice M. Danner
Alice M. Danner, of Hershey, PA, died Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Oak Hill Center for Rehab and Nursing in Middletown, PA, after a short illness. She was 94.
She was born November 10, 1929, in Bethlehem, PA.
She was the daughter of the late Leonard M. and Fannie V (Eisenhauer) Rudolph of Bethlehem, PA.
Alice was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1947, in Bethlehem, PA and a member of the Columbus Methodist Church in Columbus, NJ.
She was the former wife of the late Gene L. Danner. She traveled and lived in many places and on many Air Force bases, including Japan. She was also an avid reader and her interests included her family, genealogy, cooking, and baking.
She was a fourth cousin to the late, former President Dwight D. Eisenhower. She was also a descendant of Mayflower Pilgrims and signers of the Mayflower Compact, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence.
Through an ancestral link to Queen Victoria of England, she was related to many of the Royal Houses of Europe, including Tsar Nicholas Romanoff of Russia. Her lineage can be traced and documented back to Biblical times.
Alice is preceded in death by her brother, Burton Rudolph, and grandson, Aaron Danner. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Danner) Voigt, the widow of the late Reverend Richard C. Voigt, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy, of Hershey, PA. She is also survived by her sons, Larry G. Danner, with wife Nancy (Cole), of Appomattox, VA, and Jeff W. Danner, with wife, Brenda (Cotts), of Calhan, CO. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer (Voigt) Murgia, and husband Christopher Murgia, of Bel Air, MD, Barry Danner of Missoula, MN, Joseph Danner of Fredericksburg, VA, Sarah (Danner) Perry, and husband Thomas Perry Jr, of Martinsburg, WV, Constance
(Danner) Dean and husband John Dean of Washington, NJ, Jessica (Danner) Grabinski and husband Jason Grabinski of Washington, NJ, and Katherine (Danner) Petrozelli, and husband Anthony Petrozelli, of Phillipsburg, NJ, as well as great grandchildren: Christian Murgia of Potomac, MD, Megan Murgia of Bel Air, MD, Anna Grabinski and Jayce Grabinski, both of Washington, NJ, Ava Petrozelli of Phillipsburg, NJ, Amelia Dean of Washington, NJ, Thomas Perry III of Martinsburg, WV, Josuah Danner and Aiden Danner, both of Fredericksburg, VA, Ryan Danner and Nicholas Danner, both of Lodi, CA. A graveside service and interment will be held at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown, PA on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM, followed by a private family repast.
The services are under the direction of the Central Pennsylvania Cremation Society, Harrisburg, PA.
