Trump’s virtues were his accomplishments
Bill White is again sermonizing to us — the misguided, knuckle-dragging, unwashed deplorables — about the horrors of Donald Trump. Most who plan to vote Republican are well aware that the former president is not a paragon of personal virtue. However, we’re also aware of what he accomplished in terms of the economy, domestic energy production, record low unemployment without inflation, developing a COVID vaccine in record time, the Middle East and earning the international respect that motivated NATO partners to increase their defense commitments and demotivated our adversaries from engaging in war and terrorism — all while protecting our borders. Quite a contrast from the chaos at our Southern border, including the enormous increase in human trafficking and domestic fentanyl deaths, from unnecessarily high inflation, from the loss of international respect accompanying our disastrous departure from Afghanistan and the confusion and ambiguities attending our support of Israel and Ukraine. And now President Biden — elected as a “unifier” — is asking the plumbers, electricians, carpenters, roofers, painters, bricklayers and other tradesmen as well as those who scrimped to repay their college loans to pay for the student loan debt of others. Wow.
