‘High Voltage’ Dolgin makes Lorain County appearance

A Lorain native who has become nationally known as a health and wellness guru will make a whirlwind tour in Lorain County on Dec. 1.

Kathie “High Voltage” Dolgin will return to northern Ohio to talk about the power of food addiction and how people can get “Sugar Savvy” in Lorain and Elyria.

Since the 1970s, Dolgin created an empowering health and wellness lifestyle program followed by clients such as Bette Midler, Kesley Grammer and Katie Couric.

In 2001, Dolgin founded the national nonprofit organizati­on Energy Up! a national non-profit organizati­on dedicated to fighting childhood obesity. The foundation helped bring her program to New York City schools.

Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center have also gotten Sugar Savvy with her program.

Dolgin has been featured on television programs including Today, Good Morning America, CBS Morning Show, CNN, Extra, Entertainm­ent Tonight and E! Network.

Dolgin also hopes to start a program in Ohio similar to the one she made successful in New York City Schools.

Her schedule in Cleveland and Lorain County on Dec. 1 includes a morning visit to Lorain Southview Middle School.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dolgin will be at the Midtown Innovation Conference Center in Cleveland to meet with various health and public officials. She will be at Lorain County Community College 2 to 3:30 p.m. to meet with students and faculty.

Dolgin also will be at the Elyria Public Library from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to meet with school, city and county officials. She will sign copies of her book.

Her appearance is at the Miller Room of the West River library, 1194 West River Road North, Elyria. The appearance is sponsored by the Elyria Club of Negro Business and Profession­al Women, Inc.
