Elyria man killed in East Cleveland

An Elyria man was shot to death earlier this week on Cleveland’s east side, according to a Cleveland. com article.

Scottie Thornton Jr., 21, was identified July 26. He was shot three times in the chest and leg, according to the Cuyahoga County medical examiner.

Authorities believe Thornton was shot around 2 a.m. July 24 in the 6800 block of Bushnell Court. He was found face down on the corner of Bushnell Court and 68th Street by Cleveland police officers, the article said.

Thornton was taken to Metro-Health Medical Center in Cleveland and pronounced dead. So far, no arrest have been made.
